The Story

The firmest of our three Natural mattresses. Heritage construction, the deepest support layer we build below the flagship.

Natural mattresses use wool, cotton and horsehair as the comfort layer rather than foam or latex. The reason is breathability. Natural fibres regulate temperature far better than synthetic fills, wick moisture, and have the lived-in feel that's been used in proper British bedmaking for generations. The Cavendish takes those fillings and sits them over 6,405 individually pocketed springs, the highest spring count in the Natural range, packed tightly enough to hold heavier frames and back sleepers level through the night.

This is the tier for back sleepers, heavier frames, larger couples sharing a bed, and anyone who wakes up sore on a softer mattress. It's also the right call if you sleep hot, since the natural fibres breathe in a way that foam never quite manages, even with gel infusion.

If you're choosing across the three Natural tiers, this is the call. Ashbourne is the soft, the deepest cushion. Harrow is the medium, the most universal choice. Cavendish is the firm, the heaviest support layer. Same natural-fibre character throughout, three different tensions.

If you've been looking at firmer natural mattresses from Vispring or Harrison Spinks and finding them either overbuilt or wildly overpriced, the Cavendish is the answer. Same heritage construction, same spring counts in the same range, our manufacturing. Worth knowing, since I personally supplied Vispring and Harrison Spinks for over a decade before launching The Sleep Co.

Hand-built in our British workshop. Natural wool, cotton and horsehair comfort layer over 6,405 individually pocketed springs. Available in all sizes, single through Super King.

10 year mattress guarantee. White glove delivery anywhere in mainland UK.

If you're not sure which tension to choose, we'd rather you got it right than rushed. Get in touch and we'll talk through what you sleep on now.
