The Story
Floor-to-ceiling fluting flanked by tall side wings. The Harper makes the wall behind the bed.
The Harper is the most architectural headboard in the range. The central panel is fluted in deep vertical channels that run the full height of the headboard, framed on either side by tall plain wings that extend forward at right angles to the bed. The wings are nearly the same height as the central panel, so the whole structure reads as a three-piece architectural backdrop rather than a conventional headboard.
This is the bed for a high-ceilinged room. Period drawing rooms, country house bedrooms, listed buildings with cornicing and ceiling roses. The Harper is sized for those proportions. In a low-ceilinged modern room it will overwhelm the wall, which is why we recommend measuring carefully before ordering.
The footboard is low and rolled, the legs short turned dark wood. Available exclusively as a non storage frame. The headboard height and wing structure are designed to be seen on legs, and the proportions don't translate to a flush-to-floor base.
If you've been looking at headboards from Sweetpea & Willow or Darlings of Chelsea in this style and finding them either underbuilt or wildly overpriced, the Harper is the answer. Same architectural ambition, our manufacturing.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades, in a family business making furniture since 1968. Solid hardwood frame. FSC-certified timbers. Fluted panels hand-stitched channel by channel. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. 15 year frame guarantee. White glove delivery and assembly anywhere in mainland UK.
Made your way. Choose from over 100 fabrics across velvets, linens, bouclés and weaves. Available in double, king and super king. Bespoke sizing on request.
Want to see it first? Free swatches before you commit. The image shows a soft mushroom velvet, but the same shape carries deep heritage tones, navy, espresso, oxblood, cream linen.
