A scrolled sleigh frame, deep diamond-buttoned, finished in velvet. The Chesterfield, doing what a Chesterfield should.
The headboard is tall and rectangular, hand-tufted in a deep diamond pattern that runs the full width and most of the height. The footboard is the unmistakable detail. A full sleigh roll, buttoned along the curved face in a tighter diamond pattern, scrolling outward and down toward the floor. The whole frame sits on classic turned dark wood legs at every corner.
This is the most traditional silhouette in our range. Period drawing rooms, Georgian rectories, listed buildings with deep cornicing. The Chesterfield earns its place in any of them because the shape is genuinely old, not pretending. We build it to the proportions a Chesterfield should be, not the slimmed-down imitations most makers ship now.
Most of our beds switch to flush-to-floor storage when ordered as ottoman or adjustable. The Chesterfield is one of three exceptions. The legs stay on, and the bed keeps the same proportions whether you order non storage, manual ottoman, electric ottoman or adjustable platform. It's a structural choice. The scrolled footboard and overall balance only work with the bed lifted on legs.
